As part of Project TEACH, our child and adolescent psychiatrists have provided more than 2,400 telephone consultations since 2010 to pediatric primary care providers (PCPs). This is a great deal of support for children and families in New York State.
These telephone consultations help you manage mental health concerns within your own primary care office. Our child and adolescent psychiatrists can help address any questions or challenges you have. This includes topics such as diagnosis of specific conditions or questions about medications. No matter how simple or difficult the cases may seem, we can provide you with answers and insights specific to a child’s mental health needs.
In some cases, our psychiatrists and the PCP may determine that there is a need for a more intense psychiatric evaluation. At that time, we can assist with scheduling a face-to-face evaluation with our child and adolescent psychiatrists.
Making a consultation request is easy. Simply call us at 1-844-892-5070.
This consultation line operates Monday-Friday between 9:00 am – 5:00 p.m. When you call, our staff will gather basic information about your case for the telephone consultation. They relay the referral information to our child and adolescent psychiatrist. Upon receiving a faxed consultation request, our staff schedule a time for the telephone consultation to take place at your convenience.
When requesting a consultation, please have the following information:
• Patient Age
• Working Diagnosis
